Project KKK triumphs as UPD 2023 social category champion

Naga City- Unify Platform AG’s UNIPLAT Pitch Deck 2023, a renowned international research/business competition, started their awarding ceremonies for the Social Category on June 4th, unveiling a diverse range of groundbreaking projects. The event attracted participants from various backgrounds, including students, researchers, business start-ups, and entrepreneurs, all eager to address United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)-aligned topics.

With an extended list of proposal categories compared to the previous year, UPD 2023 provided a fertile ground for participants to pitch their innovative ideas and spearhead positive change. The three categories included Business, Social, and Public Relations/Marketing, catering to a wide array of perspectives and approaches.

Within the Social category, participants were encouraged to propose social projects aimed at addressing SDGs-related issues in the Philippines. Entries were judged based on innovativeness and creativity, viewer-friendliness, feasibility, mechanics, and content relevance. Esteemed judges for this category included Dr. Torkel Falkenberg, Associate Professor in Health Care Research at Karolinska Institutet, and Representative, along with Mr. Muhammad Yunus Musa, Founder and CEO of the STEM Club Project Africa and Youth Ambassador of African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA).

Following a rigorous evaluation process, the winners of UNIPLAT Pitch Deck 2023 were announced. Among them, the top-ranked project in the Social category was “UPD 2023 | KabuTeam | Project KKK: Kabutehan para sa Kabuhayan at Kalusugan.” This outstanding initiative garnered praise for its community engagement approach, focusing on strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats identification. Dr. Torkel Falkenberg, the head judge for the social category, highlighted the sustainability of joint efforts and commended the project’s inclusive and bottom-up approach.

The KABUTeam expressed their deep gratitude to the esteemed judges and the entire UNIPLAT community for recognizing the potential of their project and its social impact. They also extended appreciation to everyone who supported them on their journey, emphasizing the significance of encouragement and belief in their vision.

UNIPLAT Pitch Deck 2023 not only celebrated these remarkable achievements but also rewarded winners with an array of prizes. Cash prizes were granted to the top-placed projects in each category, ranging from Php 25,000 for Business, Php 15,000 for Social, and Php 10,000 for Public Relations and Marketing. Mentorship opportunities and online internships were also offered to the top three projects in each category, fostering continued growth and development.

Additionally, winners will received exclusive UPD2023 T-shirts and certificates to commemorate their accomplishments. Notably, projects with significant engagement on UNIPLAT’s social media channels enjoyed increased exposure through PR coverage.
