The Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Ligao City and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted free birth, marriage, and death registration recently.
Delia Prepotente, city civil registrar, said it is an annual activity in line with the Civil Registration Month this February and in accordance with the law.
“We will be accepting late and no late registrations for free,” Prepotente said.
She added that they are expecting more or less 100 individuals who will avail of the free registration.
Prepotente reminded those who will register to bring the requirements.
For timely birth registration, individuals must accomplish the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) form.
"For those parents who are not married whose child wished to use the surname of the father, the father should be the informant," Prepotente said.
An accomplished Affidavit to Use the Surname of the Father (AUSF) form executed by the mother is also required together with the residence certificates (cedula) or identification (ID) cards of informants and parents.
Prepotente said the forms are available at their office and at the Josefina Belmonte Duran-Albay Provincial Hospital.
Meanwhile, for late registrations, the same requirements are to be submitted along with a PSA Negative Result that proves the absence of enlistment, supporting documents of the registrable events, affidavit of two disinterested persons with cedula or ID, and barangay certificate for delayed registration.
For late registration of marriage and death, a PSA Negative Result is also required along with additional supporting documents.
Prepotente also said both unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals against Covid-19 are welcome to avail of the free registration.
"Fully vaccinated individuals are still advised to bring their vaccination cards," she added. (With a report from Eliakim Neric/PNA-OJT)
