Shelter repair assistance extended to families

Caritas-Caceres distributes shelter repair materials distributed to households whose homes were destroyed by the typhoons last year at the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, Buhi, Camarines Sur. Caritas - Caceres extends its gratitude to generous donors for the shelter repair assistance to families whose homes were destroyed by typhoons that hit Bicol Region. Six hundred forty-nine families were identified as beneficiaries. The families, residing in 42 parishes of the Archdiocese of Caceres, received assistance through the ‘Magkatuwang sa Pagbangon,’ a humanitarian response to natural disaster.


From January 28 to February 9, 281 households from the following parishes benefitted from the program: Our Lady of Rosa Mystica in Antipolo, Tinambac; St. Joseph in Tamban, Tinambac; Holy Cross in Nabua; St. Francis of Assisi and St. Paul the Apostle in Buhi; Holy Trinity and St. Jude Thaddeus in Bato; St. John of the Cross in Agdangan, Baao; Our Lady of Fatima in San Isidro, Iriga City; Our Lady of La Porteria and St. Peregrine of Laziosi, in Calabanga.


Shelter materials were also distributed to 38 families in St. Anthony Abbot Parish in Tapayas, Balatan; 60 families in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Tandaay and Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Malawag, Nabua; 51 families in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Balatan; 45 families in Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish in Casuray; St. Anne Parish in Magarao and Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Canaman; 57 families in the parishes of St. Peter Baptist in Moriones, Ocampo; St. Raphael Parish in Pili; St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Digdigon, Goa; St. Claire Parish in Tigaon, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Quipayo, Calabanga; Parish of St. Andrew the Apostle in Sagñay; and to family- beneficiaries in the the parishes of St. Vincent Ferrer, San Vicente, Buhi; Our Lady of Rosary in Bombon all in the province of Camarines Sur.


House repair materials include GI sheets, coco lumber, plywood, nails and hammer.


Generous donors for shelter assistance include Manos Unidas, Misereor, Caritas-Manila, Radio Veritas 846 and other donors. Caritas- Caceres also extends its gratitude to its implementing partners, BCDI, SEDP, MDRRMO of various municipalities in Camarines Sur and Caritas beneficiaries, the social action office further said.
