Shooting incident resolved under PNP’s 5-minute response rule

PILI, Camarines Sur --- A suspect involved in a shooting incident along Diversion Road, Zone 2, Brgy. San Agustin, Pili, was swiftly arrested by responding officers of the Pili Municipal Police Station (MPS) on October 16, 2025, following the implementation of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) 5-Minute Response Policy.
According to the Pili MPS, the shooting was reported at around 10:58 AM. Duty patrollers stationed at the nearest fixed visibility point were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they apprehended the suspect identified by the alias “Jay,” 37, a married farmer and resident of Pili.
Initial investigation revealed that the altercation stemmed from a previous misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim, known as “Onin,” a local driver also residing in Pili. The two encountered each other on the road and reportedly engaged in a fistfight.
The altercation escalated when the victim allegedly chased the suspect with a pipe, prompting the latter to draw a firearm of unknown caliber and shoot, hitting the victim’s hand.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was successfully arrested by responding officers.
Emergency responders from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU-Pili rushed the victim to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City for medical treatment.
The suspect was read his constitutional rights and is now facing an inquest for attempted homicide.
