LEGAZPI CITY --- Artificial intelligence and robotics took center stage at SM City Legazpi as students, children, and families flocked to the two-day NCF TechXEd Roadshow, where they experienced firsthand the latest innovations in humanoid robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and immersive technologies.

Held from July 18 to 19, the roadshow was organized by SM City Legazpi in partnership with the Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) to bring emerging technologies closer to the Bicolano community through interactive and technology-driven learning experiences.

Claire Hariri, SM City Legazpi corporate spokesperson, said the event drew an enthusiastic response from mallgoers, particularly children and students, who eagerly embraced digital innovation by interacting and dancing with humanoid robots.

“The energy was incredible, and seeing everyone experience the first humanoid robots in Bicol was truly unforgettable. A huge thank you to everyone who dropped by the NCF TechXEd Roadshow,” Hariri said.

Among the event’s highlights were four humanoid robots, a robotic dog, and various virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) exhibits. The humanoid robots amazed visitors by dancing, running, and even performing karate demonstrations, while the immersive VR and AR displays allowed participants to experience next-generation digital technologies.

From toddlers and elementary pupils to high school students, adults, and senior citizens, visitors enthusiastically interacted with the robots, reflecting the growing public interest in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

NCF President Mario Villanueva said the roadshow aims to inspire creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning by showcasing the latest developments in AI, humanoid robotics, virtual and augmented reality, and other interactive technologies.

He encouraged the public to experience firsthand how emerging technologies are transforming education and preparing learners for the future.

The NCF TechXEd Roadshow forms part of NCF’s continuing efforts to promote innovation, digital literacy, and technology-driven education among Bicolanos.
