Spike in Covid-19 cases noted in S’sogon, CamSur

The provinces of Sorsogon and Camarines Sur have posted a sharp increase Covid-19 cases prior and during the observance of Lenten season in Bicol.
The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 62 cases of Covid-19 across the region, the highest so far in a week with 30 cases reported in Sorsogon and 29 cases in Camarines Sur.
Based on the data released by DOH on Saturday, Apr.3 at least 62 cases of Covid-19 were recorded, which was the highest in the period of one week since Mar. 28 to Apr. 3 across the region.
The DOH report showed that the Bicol region recorded a total of 5,560 cases since Mar. 27, 2020 with 4,706 recoveries and 233 deaths.
Of the total number, Camarines Sur had the highest number of cases among the six provinces with 1,476 or 26 percent followed by Sorsogon with 800 cases or 14 percent.
Next to Sorsogon is Masbate with 732 or 13 percent, Albay with 654 or 11 percent, Catanduanes with 233 or 4 percent, while the province of Camarines Norte has the lowest number of cases with 179 or 3 percent.
Meanwhile, Naga City recorded 943 cases or 16 percent and Legazpi City with 519 cases or 9 percent.
