CALABANGA, Camarines Sur --- The Social Security System (SSS) extended its frontline services to nearly 100 townsfolk in Barangay Sabang as the SSS Naga Branch participated in the recently concluded Serbisyo Caravan.

The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Provincial Office in Camarines Sur, the Camarines Sur Communicators’ Network (CamSur COMNET) and the local government of Calabanga organized the Serbisyo Caravan to bring government services to grassroots communities.

SSS Naga Branch Head Claribel L. Rebueno said that the SSS eWheels facilitated SSS transactions involving My.SSS account registration and password resetting, updating of personal information, generation of Payment Reference Number (PRN) for contribution and loan payments, and contribution verification.

“SSS supports coastal communities like the municipality of Calabanga- which is popularly known for its rich marine resources and dried fish industry- by bringing social security protection and services to the fisherfolks. Our participation in this event is our way of ensuring that they feel cared for and protected,” Rebueno said.

Barangay Sabang is a remote coastal area which is 16.9 kilometers away from the SSS branch office in Naga City.

“SSS is active in agency collaboration by participating in various government initiatives that aim to provide convenience to SSS members and pensioners,” Rebueno said.

Other national government agencies participated in the Serbisyo Caravan, such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Land Transportation Office (LTO) Naga, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA), and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
