“Tara ‘nay, tawa tayo,” a PRC CamSur’s Mom’s Day treat

By Lizel S. Macatangay

THE Philippine Red Cross-Camarines Sur Chapter Board of Directors deviate from the usual formal setting of treating their dear moms on special occasions, they came up instead with a plan to make the Mother’s Day a truly unforgettable experience.

The thought of not only filling their tummies with hearty food but also filling their hearts with happiness and laughter is for them the meaningful way to celebrate the occasion with their moms – what a better way to share it with other mothers too while making the bright idea as an avenue to generate funds to support various programs and services of the country’s premier humanitarian organization.

The Gala Night dubbed “Tara Nay, Tawa Tayo,” is slated on May 14, Sunday at the Tent, Avenue Plaza, along Magsaysay Road, Balatas, Naga City featuring the famous Bicolano band, 4k Barrel.

The quartet is a well-loved home-grown musician known for their rendition of melodic and soulful songs. They demonstrate strong stage presence and a well-chosen repertoire for their audience.

Lola Feling’s talents, a group of stand-up comedians and performers will be the event’s main feature.  After the pandemic hit the world and severely affected all nations including the Philippines, their regular gigs and performances in Metro Manila and adjacent provinces also came to a halt.

Marvin de Vera Gerero, a native of Sorsogon and the group’s leader, decided to return to Bicol. He brought with him his friends who have done similar gigs in other comedy bars in the metro and started to have a steady following in Bicol when the COVID restrictions started to loosen up.

Lola Feling’s performers have prepared well-chosen antics, songs, and other acts that will surely delight and amuse their audience.

The Dinner-For-A-Cause ticket only costs P1,000.00 inclusive of a palatable meal prepared by The Tent’s chefs. Diners can also have a chance to win raffle prizes.

PRC Camarines Sur OIC Chapter administrator Maria Felisa Badiola said that the chapter fully supports the BOD’s fund-raising drive as its proceeds will go to the various services of the PRC CamSur Chapter and will surely extend to the less privileged segment of society.

“The Philippine Red Cross, as a humanitarian organization, responds to the needs of the most vulnerable sector. We have a lot of services yet 80% of our funds are coming from donations. I am grateful to all the hard-working Board of Directors for all their support to raise funds. The dinner for a cause is their idea and its proceeds will be used to fund the various programs of the chapter,” Badiola stated.

Sponsorship Packages

The Board of Directors (BOD) crafted different sponsorship and donation packages that potential sponsors and donors can choose from.

“We are knocking on every generous heart to help us ensure the success of this event. The PRC Camarines Sur Board of Directors need benevolent and generous people whose values align with our goal of giving tribute to all mothers, and who believe that their donation will go a long way in alleviating human suffering,” Badiola added.
