The Christ of Christmas

The advent season is here with us and in a week’s time the traditional midnight masses will be observed. Our churches will be filled to capacity and it is our hope that this will not exacerbate the spread of our silent enemy - the Covid-19. Friends and relatives will be coming home from Metro Manila and different places from the north as they look forward to the traditional family re-unions. This home-coming has been observed since time immemorial and it is our hope that their expectations will not be spoiled by the pandemic. Be that as it may, we wish them a happy homecoming and a joyous Christmas.

This column commends the Bicol Region Inter-Agency Task Force For Emergency Infectious Disease for its resolution to conduct aggressive community testing in selected areas, among them Naga City from December 1 to 5. This is a huge step in stemming the transmission and further spread of Covid-19.

If reports from tv, print and broadcast media are to be believed car registration at the LTO Office in Tambo, Pamplona is less hustle than any other car registration offices. I plan to register my Ford sedan when I go to Pasacao next week to pay my real estate taxes. Although the registration of my car is still due up to December, I may as well take the opportunity this coming week.

TRIVIA:
