AS Funeraria Imperial (FI) approaches its 100th year of service by 2026, the company reaffirms its longstanding commitment to compassionate, personalized care for grieving families — a legacy built not just on tradition, but on heart.

This article aims to drumbeat the upcoming centennial celebration of Funeraria Imperial, a rare milestone in the funeral service industry, highlighting its unique story of empathy, generosity, and unwavering public service.
Managing Director Jess Imperial, the current steward of the family-owned funeral home, shared how the company continues to distinguish itself from others in the industry.
“What truly sets us apart is our hands-on, personalized approach. We always find ways to go the extra mile for our clients, even when the request falls outside the scope of our official services,” he said.
That “extra mile” often means extending flexible payment arrangements, waiving minor fees, or assisting families in securing essential documents — all without additional cost. “We understand that many of our clients are already dealing with emotional and financial hardship. That’s why we do our best to accommodate them — not for profit, but because it’s part of who we are,” Imperial said.
Jess emphasized that their company policy strictly prohibits hidden charges. “We don’t charge for anything we didn’t invest in. We believe in transparency and fairness, especially in moments when families are most vulnerable.”
Beyond the business of funerals, Funeraria Imperial has also become a pillar of community support. During the pandemic, it opened its doors to those who were stranded and far from home. In times of natural calamities like typhoons, the funeral home served as a safe haven for both nearby residents and families of the deceased who traveled from far-flung provinces.
“Situations like those allow us to build friendships and show that our service extends beyond what’s written in a contract,” said Imperial. “For me, ‘service with compassion’ means practicing empathy and living the words of Jesus: ‘What you do to the least of your brethren, you do unto me.’”
Funeraria Imperial’s approach is deeply rooted in family values passed down through generations. “Our ancestors taught us the importance of generosity, especially to the needy, the children, the widows, and the downtrodden. That spirit of compassion guides us every day,” Jess added.
As the company prepares for its centennial in 2026, Funeraria Imperial continues to reflect on its founding mission — not just to offer funeral services, but to share in the human experience of grief with dignity, understanding, and heart.
Through a century of service, Funeraria Imperial has shown that even in life’s most difficult moments, kindness can leave a lasting legacy.
