Timeline of the History of the devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia

Located at the top of the mountain, Peña de Francia, a shrine dedicated to Nuestra Señora de Francia was completed in 1437.

On June 4, 1952, Pope Pius XII canonically crowned the image of Our Lady of Peña de Francia and named her, “Queen of Castille”.


The images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and El Divino Rostro continue to visit barangays, homes and establishments in preparation for their feasts in September.
