Tirona ordains two new deacons

The Archdiocese of Caceres was blessed with the ordination to the Sacred Order of Deacons of two seminarians: Sem. Joseph Bacsain Abion of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, Pilgrim City of Naga and Sem. Jene Lois Mendoza Sarmiento of the St. Paschal Baylon Parish, Tinambac, Camarines Sur.

They were ordained to the diaconate by Most Rev. Rolando J. Tria Tirona, OCD, DD, Archbishop of Caceres, at Our Lady of Peñafrancia Basilica Minore on July 3.

In his homily, Archbishop Tria Tirona reminded the newly-ordained deacons of their mission as servants, not only in their diaconate, but also in their forthcoming priesthood. According to the Prelate, “As deacons, you are servants, and you are trained to be servants so you will become faithful and good servants as priests – servants of Jesus, servants of the Church.”

The ordination rites was aired live on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of the Archdiocese of Caceres. - Myrna Bermudo
