Tricycle driver shot dead in Iriga City

A trike driver from Buhi, Camarines Sur, was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Sta. Maria, Iriga City, while he was on the way to the city proper with three passengers aboard his tricyle.
SSgt. Michael Kane Bermero, police investigator of Iriga City police station, identified the victim as Ben John Murcia, 39 of Tambo, Buhi, Camarines Sur.
In an interview, Bermero told Bicol Mail that the victim, while driving his tricycle, was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen. Murcia sustained three gunshot wounds on the side and back of his body.
He said the victim died after hours of hospitalization. He bared that according to relatives of the victim, the latter did not have any enemy.
Based from the police report, the incident happened while the victim was driving his tricycle with three passengers around 5:25 AM on Feb. 26.
The victim was rushed to the Villanueva-Tanchuling Maternity and General Hospital in San Jose, Iriga City. The suspects escaped after the shooting leaving six empty shells of caliber 45 pistol.
