Project KKK and UNC inks pact to support mushroom industry, holds exhibits, trade fair

THE University of Nueva Caceres had its most awaited Open House 2023 last May 13, this year, with the theme, “Future Ready Lodi: Idols of the Future.” Part of the event was an exhibit and trade fair participated in by local businessmen in the city and nearby municipalities.


The EME’s Mushroom which was represented by one named Tita Meriam was one of the exhibitors at the UNC Open House Trade Fair Exhibit. It was conducted as part of Project KKK’s mission of assisting our kabuTitas in marketing their mushrooms and by-products from the Gawad Kalinga Abanggayon Village, San Fernando Camarines Sur.


The products are available at their kaBOOTHe where Mushroom Chicharon comes in various flavors, including products such as peanut butter with mushroom, mushroom lumpia, and the best-seller, mushroom balls with sweet and spicy sauce.

Ms. Fay Lea Patria M. Lauraya, the President of the University of Nueva Caceres, extended her support to our kabuTitas by visiting and buying from the kaBOOTHe. Also present at the open house was Francisca Sabdao, the Institutionalized Community Extension Services Director of the University, who showed her full support to EME’s Mushroom.


Among those visited the school for the event were students, parents, teachers, and other members of KabuTEAM.


During the event, Project KKK proponents Trisha-Marie Albeus and Everild Gerd Pablo were present.


The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing happened on the same day, May 13, 2023, with JCI Naga Inc., JCI Nagueña, and Isarog Masonic Lodge No. 33 F&AM at Isarog Masonic Temple, Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City, Camarines Sur.


Present during the MOU signing were the Very Worshipful Glenn Altea - District Grand Lecturer, Bro. Adrian A. Año - Senior Warden, Job Llaguno - JCI Naga 2023 President, and Camille Fornoles - JCI Nagueña 2023 Executive Vice President and to represent WB Gene Ryan A. Altea – Worshipful Master is WB Danilo J. Villa Jr, - Immediate Past Master.


Project KKK members, Trisha-Marie Albeus, Everild Gerd Pablo, and Josh Manila witnessed the signing. Also in attendance are JCI Naga members who are also part of Isarog Masonic Lodge No. 33. Through the help of our Legal Counsel, Atty. Henry Payte, the MOU was made possible.


The MOU signing strengthens the continuous support to our kabuTitas in expanding their markets and boosting the demands of the mushroom industry in the Bicol Region.
