Approaching its 75th Founding Anniversary - Diamond Jubilee, the University of Nueva Caceres brings to Bicolandia a lot of victory, a lot of history, and a lot of legacy, through the UNC School of Law, led by the Dean, Atty. Antonio Rivero, assisted by Ms. Gemma Dometita and UNC Law School faculty.
According to the Legal Education Board (LEB), UNC is the TOP Law School in Bicol, with the greatest number of lawyers produced in Region 5. In the 2020-2021 BAR Exams alone, UNC posted its record-breaking 137 Bar Passers.
The University of Nueva Caceres - School of Law has produced a great many outstanding alumni and has contributed a fair share of illustrious individuals in Bicol and beyond, here and abroad. One who comes to mind easily is UNC’s Most Outstanding Alumni Awardee, no less than the former Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines – Atty. Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo.

Since 2020, UNC is the only Bar Examination Testing Center in the Region. For two years now, during the BAR season, all roads lead to UNC. We once again prepped our grounds, opened our gates, and offered our halls to welcome the barristers and soon-to-be lawyers who expectantly enter our campus – because we are nurturing better tomorrows for all. We are expanding opportunities for all. We are kindling the hope that through this gesture of goodwill, Everybody Makes It.
Boosting the Barristers’ Morale
To make the BAR season even more memorable, the illustrious BAR Exam Year 2020-2021 Chairperson, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Mario Victor F. Leonen visited the UNC campus for back-to-back UNC and Supreme Court joint events on Nov. 10, 2022 - the Ethics Caravan and the Unveiling of HISTORY MAKER Building Marker, conferred to UNC by the Supreme Court of the Philippines. With the BAR Chairperson in the house - what a morale-booster!
Towering above the memories is hosting the Chief Justice himself! We are extremely proud, pleased, and privileged to have a stellar figure and an icon in our midst., the highest judicial officer of the government of the Philippines, the 27th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines - the highest court of the land, the Honorable Alexander Gahon Gesmundo. As UNC wished our barristers all the best, we could not ask for more! As the Master of Ceremonies, finding an audience and sharing the stage with the Supreme Court luminaries at UNC is an immense honor for me.
Doing the Right Things Right
As we serve the God of Justice and uphold justice in all that we do, may we find the will and wisdom in the Word of God: Psalm chapter 106 verse 3: “Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.” As guardians of the light, may the truth, justice, and fairness reign in the hall - and in the University, forever.
