NAGA CITY — In an inspiring display of unity and compassion, hundreds of runners from across the region gathered at dawn on October 26, 2025, for the Universi3 Run 2025, held at the PAGCOR Multipurpose Event Center in Balatas, Naga City.
Organized by the High School Batch 2000 alumni of Ateneo de Naga University, University of Nueva Caceres and Universidad de Sta. Isabel, the event carried the powerful theme “Three Schools. Three Universities. One Purpose. Running as One.” and the rallying call “One Stride, One Goal.”
The Universi3 Run 2025 was more than a race — it was a movement. The fun run championed autism awareness, inclusion, and wellness, with portion of the proceeds supporting public Special Education (SPED) programs in Naga City. These programs cater to children with special needs, many of whom lack access to essential learning tools and services.
A Celebration with Purpose
Participants from all walks of life — students, alumni, families, and professionals — joined the event’s multiple race categories: 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K. The atmosphere was electric as the 21K runners took off at 4:00 AM, followed by staggered starts for the other distances.
Runners in bright singlets filled the streets of Balatas, cheered on by volunteers, friends, and supporters. The sense of camaraderie was unmistakable — each stride symbolized unity, advocacy, and hope for children with special needs.
A Shared Victory
As runners crossed the finish line throughout the morning, smiles, cheers, and high-fives filled the PAGCOR grounds. Organizers and sponsors emphasized that the real victory wasn’t measured in minutes or medals, but in the collective effort to make Naga City a more inclusive and compassionate community.
One participant summed it up beautifully:
“We’re not just racing for ourselves. We’re racing for children who deserve the chance to learn, grow, and belong.”
Beyond the Finish Line
The success of Universi3 Run 2025 reflects a growing movement in Naga City — using fitness, fellowship, and advocacy to drive positive change. Organizers expressed gratitude to the event’s partners, sponsors, and volunteers, whose collaboration made the run possible.
