Virac PNP holds ‘Serbisyo Caravan’ for women

VIRAC, Catanduanes --- In celebration of Women’s Month this March, the police station here conducted a ‘Serbisyo Caravan’ for women on March 11, at Barangay Palta Big in this capital town.
Some 200 women from various barangays of Virac benefited from the project.
Among the services rendered to the beneficiaries include free manicure and pedicure; free haircut; free seedlings; sim card registration assistance; livelihood assistance for single mom; Unlad kasanayan para kay Juana (torones making); and VAWC lecture.
The event was held in cooperation with the following agencies: DICT Catanduanes, PIA Catanduanes, Department of Agriculture Catanduanes Hilly Upland Development Station, Municipal Agriculture of Virac, Community Training and Employment Coordinator, LGU Virac, RHU Buenavista, KKDAT Virac, OJT students of Catanduanes State University, Drin Nhadz Salon and other volunteers.
Major Robert T. Caparroso, chief of Virac police, said they will sustain the activity to bring the government services closer to the public in their area of jurisdiction.
Such activity did not only strengthen police-community relation but also helped in empowering women, he said. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
