Winners in 12th Bicol Military Parade tilt announced

CITY Mayor Nelson S. Legacion on Friday, Sept. 16, opened the 12th Bicol Region Military Parade and Majorettes and Band Exhibition Contest in a vibrant tone, citing the presence of various contingents and visitors as a positive sign of bouncing back from the COVID -19 pandemic that almost crippled the economy and impeded the conduct of like activities.


“Sa unang pagkakataon, matapos ang mahaba-habang paghihirap, because of COVID-19 pandemic, ngayon tayo po ay nandirito ngayon, nagkakaisa. First in the history of Regional Military Parade na may ganito tayong contingent, may ganito tayong bisita -- pagpapakita ng lakas nang pwersa ng Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, ng mga kasamahan po natin sa CAT, sa ROTC, at lahat ng mga nag-desisyon na sumama at makilahok sa 12th Regional Military Parade,” Legacion said.


After almost seven hours, winners of the competition were finally bared.


Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) in Nabua, Camarines Sur under the stewardship of CSPC President Dr. Charlito “Choy” Cadag amassed most of the major awards during the said competition.


CSPC Nabua received the following awards: 1st place- Best Marching Band, Best Majorette Exhibition with the Marching band, Best Marching WATC Unit, and 2nd place both in Best Band Exhibition Contest and Best Marching ROTC Unit.


The Naga City Science High School bested other contingents in the Best Marching Drum and Bugle Corps (DBC)/Lyre Corps competition, emerging as this year’s winner under the said category.


Other winners include 2nd- Lyceo De Pasacao, Inc. –Pasacao, Camarines Sur; 3rd-Buhi St. Joseph Academy, Inc., Buhi, CS; 4th- Blessed Name of Mary Learning School, Inc., Pili, CS; 5th- Sto. Niño NHS, Iriga City; 6th- Sienna College, Tigaon, CS; 7th- Sacred Heart Academy, Garchitorena, CS; 8th- Holy Trinity College of Camarines Sur, Bato, CS; 9th- Don Mariano C. Veneracion NHS, Pamplona, CS and 10th- Goa Science HS, Goa, Camarines Sur.


Under the Best Marching DLC/Lyre Majorettes category, Unibersidad De Sta. Isabel-Pili Campus garnered the top score, followed by Blessed Name of Mary Learning School, Inc., Pili, CamSur (2nd); Naga City Science HS, Naga City (3rd);


Colegio Del Santisimo Rosario, Libmanan CS (4th place); Siena College, Tigaon, CamSur (5th); Zeferino Arroyo HS, Iriga City (6th); Lagonoy HS (7th); Holy Trinity College of CamSur, Bato CS (8th); Lyceo de Pasacao, Inc. (9th) and San Agustin Integrated School, Libon, Albay (10th).


USANT topped the winning contingent under the Best Marching Band Majorettes. The University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) bagged the 2nd prize; CSNHS- 3rd; Sorsogon State University-4th and CBSUA-CamSur One Campus- 5th place.


For the Best Marching CAT Unit- Boys Category, the Blessed Name of Mary Learning School, Inc., Pili, Camarines Sur received the top score, followed by CSNHS (2nd); Naga City Science HS (3rd); Don Mariano Veneracion NHS, Pamplona, CS (4th); Buhi’s St.Joseph Academy, Inc. (5th); Holy Trinity College of CS, Bato, CamSur (6th); Sto. Niño NHS, Iriga City (7th); Malawag NHS, Nabua, CamSur ( 8th); San Agustin Integrated School, Libon, Albay; (9th) and La Consolacion College , Baao, CamSur (10th).


Holy Trinity College of Camarines Sur, Bato, Camarines Sur got the juror’s nod as the Best Marching CAT Unit for Girls category. La Consolacion College Baao Inc., Camarines Sur came next (2nd) followed by Blessed Name of Mary Learning School Inc., Pili, Camarines Sur (3rd); Zeferino Arroyo High School, Iriga City (4th); Naga City Science High School, Naga City (5th).


Sto. Niño National High School, Iriga City got the 6th place; Malawag National High School, Nabua, Camarines Sur (7th);


Don Mariano C. Veneracion National High School from Pamplona, Camarines Sur made it on the 8th place; Lyceo de Pasacao Inc., Camarines Sur (9th) and Bonifacio D. Borebor Sr. High School, Caramoan, Cam Sur (10th).


CSPC Nabua garnered the highest score in the Best Marching Band category. CSNHS followed closely -2nd place; University of Saint Anthony (USANT), Iriga City- 3rd place; Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) CS-One Campus and Partido State University (PSU) in Goa, Camarines Sur- 5th place.


For the Best Marching Unit, Holy Trinity College of Camarines Sur, Bato got 91.40 points from the jurors and grabbed 1st place. It was followed closely by CSPC Nabua with 90.39 points, Bicol College in Daraga, Albay with 89.90 % - 3rd place; USANT with 89.60% - 4th place and CBSUA- CamSur One Campus with 89.50% -5th place.
